October 2002 Data Summary

Instruments were deployed from R/V Point Sur.  Primary IOP instruments were deployed on the HydroProfiler package to collect data throughout the water column, and the WALRUS hyperspectral radiometer buoy was deployed in a tethered mode to collect upwelling and downwelling light spectra, just above and just below the surface.

To receive access to the data, please contact HOBI Labs.

Cast designations:

  • HP = HydroProfiler profile
  • W = WALRUS; the WALRUS buoy is allowed to drift behind the ship, well away from its shadow, while Es values are simultaneously measured on deck.

Each day, a separate series of cast numbers was used for each type of cast.  In some cases W cast numbers are skipped to synchronize with HP numbers.
